Shallotte Cleaners has been serving Brunswick County since 1947.  Southport Cleaners was opened in 1997 and we expanded our services in 2007 to include convenient and complimentary route service to your home or business.  We are proudly Brunswick County’s only Sanitone Certified Master Dry Cleaner.

Our Mission is to provide our customers with the best dry cleaning and laundry services.  We have been voted “Best of Brunswick” for 11 consecutive years beginning in 2008 until 2018.

Shallotte Cleaners and Southport Cleaners are owned by Allan and Cindy Cheatham.  Allan has worked in the dry cleaning industry for over 40 years, as a student and graduate of UNC Wilmington and then early in his career, in Raleigh, NC as a young married man and father, and finally settling back to his coastal roots in 1997 as an owner and operator of Shallotte/Southport Cleaners.  He and his wife Cindy have been married since 1987 and she still says not having to iron is one of her favorite benefits of being married to a dry cleaner.

Allan and Cindy are more than business owners; they are part of the community. Allan belongs to the South Brunswick Islands Rotary Club.  Allan is a Brunswick Community College Legacy Member. Cindy currently serves on the board of the NC Community Foundation for Brunswick County.  She is a charter member of WPLB (Women in Philanthropy and Leadership for Brunswick CC).

You can frequently see Allan and Cindy participating in fund-raising events in and around the area for charities, including Relay 4 Life.  They offer free cleaning services for the Coats for Kids and Coats for the Homeless programs. Allan is a member of the North Carolina Association of Launderers and Cleaners, and has received the coveted Community Service award from the Rotary Club. In addition to her many duties as a business owner, Cindy is a development manager with Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center Foundation here in Brunswick County. The purpose of the foundation is to raise awareness and funding for Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center and to help benefit their team members and patients.
